Slept In

It's not that my alarm clock didn't go off - neither Hotrod nor I use an alarm clock unless we have to get up at 4 AM to catch a flight or something. I didn't sleep well last night, meaning I woke up at 4:30 AM and decided to head to the couch to watch some TV and see if I could fall back to sleep.

Around 6 AM, I was just starting to drift off when Scooter, our 18 pound monstrosity of a cat, knocked something off the counter in the kitchen. Totally awake. Again.

Hotrod heard the noise and woke up too, coming out to see what had happen. At that point, he made me go back to bed, where I promptly fell asleep and didn't wake up until 9:30 AM!!! I haven't slept in that late in forever. I feel like a punk. Now I've got to scurry and get moving to finish all my chores today. At least I don't have to make dinner. Hotrod and I are going out to a place called the Mango Tree for our 6 year anniversary tonight. It's actually on Sunday, but with the trip to Costa Rica, we'll have no time to celebrate.

I am a junkie.

A software junkie.

See, I got two new programs recently - one that makes movies, like Windows Movie Maker, only with more bells and whistles and no freeze-ups, and a new program for editing photos.

I like them both very much. Which probably explains why I spent the weekend making trailers for books I have not yet written and fan videos for songs I like. It's a sickness, I know. But I must write today. I must. I have to atone for my time wasting somehow.

If I Could Save Time...

Yesterday wasn't as big a writing day as I'd hoped - at least not in new pages. I did a lot of good layering and some small tweaks, that kind of thing, but the day just got away from me. Still loving the story and I am so encouraged by this manuscript, I can't say it enough, but y'all are probably sick of hearing about it so...onward! For now. lol

I really need to find something to read, too. I'm falling behind on my 50 books in a year goal. That happens when I'm way deep in a WIP. I get so absorbed I can't focus on much else.

Anyway, I have a mad long list of stuff to get done today so this is a drive-by. What are you up to? And more importantly, what are you writing? And how do you fit in the time to write when your day is already packed?
