You're trying me

"Do, or do not. There is no try." - Yoda

There's also no "try and."

I cringe every time I read "try and" instead of "try to." And I've even read this on an agent's blog (not mine, obviously), which chills me to the bone.

Seriously. Stop it. It's not proper English. And it makes me want to hurt something.

Try to keep that from happening, okay? Thanks.

  1. Interesting! I'm not sure right off what my instinct is with that one. I'm grammar anal so I may be okay, but I'll have to pay attention.

  3. I never really thought about it. But I'll make an effort to be aware!
(see how I dodged that bullet?)

  7. LOL! You might want to calm down. Grammar doesn't bother me, but spelling errors make me... *snicker*.

  8. Actually, I'm glad you pointed that out because I had no clue it was improper grammar. Never would've even guessed.

  10. If you're from the south, Eva, you hear it all the time. It's similar to "I'm fixin' to do somethin'."
I love that Yoda quote. I've often used it.
