There's a lot of waiting in this business. And patience is not one of my virtues (although I'm trying).
Right now I'm waiting to hear back on:
Fulls with two different editors
Partials with four different agents
Partials with three different editors
Query with one editor
Query with one agent
Non-fiction query with one magazine
Contest results in three contests
Hmmm. It's a wonder I'm not prematurely gray. What are you waiting to hear back on?

I've learned one thing about this business...it's "hurry up and wait"! SIGH...and for someone born without the P word, that's hard. Here's what I'm waiting on...
ReplyDeletea full with an editor
5 proposals to different editors
5 queries to agents
4 proposals to agents
and I need to finish revisions on one of my ms to send the full to another agent
You know my dilemma...should I reiterate? No way..I'm over it. :)
ReplyDeleteI had expected the waiting game to end once I sold, but alas, it does still play on. It's hard for for me, too.
ReplyDeleteI'm keeping my fingers crossed for you, Kristen :)
ReplyDeleteRight now I'm busy with the wip so I'm not waiting on anything.
Editors. Editors to get back to my agent.

They expect us to wait. However, they don't understand that we're also business people. We don't have time to wait. We need money. We need to make business. We have to move on after certain time. Funny how publishers keep our hands tied up and unable to do business.
ReplyDeleteOh joy, I am not a patient person either and I have yet to play the waiting game though I did submit a short story at writersjournal.com so actually i guess I am waiting to see how I made out on that one lol.
