It's not that my alarm clock didn't go off - neither Hotrod nor I use an alarm clock unless we have to get up at 4 AM to catch a flight or something. I didn't sleep well last night, meaning I woke up at 4:30 AM and decided to head to the couch to watch some TV and see if I could fall back to sleep.
Around 6 AM, I was just starting to drift off when Scooter, our 18 pound monstrosity of a cat, knocked something off the counter in the kitchen. Totally awake. Again.
Hotrod heard the noise and woke up too, coming out to see what had happen. At that point, he made me go back to bed, where I promptly fell asleep and didn't wake up until 9:30 AM!!! I haven't slept in that late in forever. I feel like a punk. Now I've got to scurry and get moving to finish all my chores today. At least I don't have to make dinner. Hotrod and I are going out to a place called the Mango Tree for our 6 year anniversary tonight. It's actually on Sunday, but with the trip to Costa Rica, we'll have no time to celebrate.

ReplyDeleteHmmm, the last time I slept in? On a cruise last year when the kiddos were home with grandma. There must have been something in the air last night. My fifteen month old woke me up at 2:30 AM and would Not go back to sleep. I finally rocked the kid to sleep. Then hubby got up at four am to fish and woke my four year old up. Then my two year old woke up at 6:30.

ReplyDeleteHmm, I slept in till about 8:30 a couple of weeks ago. I was worn out and the husband got up with the kids. It was nice. I'm usually up before 6 a.m. Blech.
Eight AM would be the latest for me, probably since my boys got old enough to be mobile.

I miss those days when I could sleep until 3 in the afternoon. Of course, I was nearly nocturnal.
Happy Anniversary! Have a great time. I slept until 8:45 after returning from Savannah but I didn't go to sleep until about 3am so I'm not sure that counts.

ReplyDeleteNormally I wake up at 6:30 on the dot. I slept in til about 10 the day after Thanksgiving. Why? Because I was hungover. Blech. (gotta drink around my family though so it was sort of a necessity)
