Yes, that's me, tooting my own horn. Miss Bramble And The Leviathan got a great review yesterday so of course, I'm sharing! You can check out the review here. Fab, huh? Have you read it yet? You really, really should. Even my cats think you should, and they're never wrong.

Release Day!!!

Miss Bramble And The Leviathan is officially on sale!!! You can get your copy here. Buy one for yourself and one for a friend! Nothing says I care like steampunk. ;o)

If you like a chance to win a copy, stop by Meljean Brooks blog today and leave a comment.

Here's the book's blurb:

The last thing she planned to steal was his heart.

The Company. Military institution, protector of Praeton and the nation of Grand Isle. Dirty rotten thief.

When Pandora Bramble steps aboard the Company’s premiere airship Daedalus it’s not for the exclusive VIP tour. It’s to secure proof that the Company stole the regulator valve her father designed—even if it means tearing the engine apart. Foiled by the unexpected appearance of a handsome crew member, she despairs of ever getting another chance—until he kisses her.

Captain Theolonius Hatch, sentenced to engine room duty for refusing to take part in the Company’s fleet week activities, never dreamed a woman like Pandora existed. Her brains match her beauty, a combination that adds up to more trouble than he ever expected.

As Pandora allows Theolonius to sweep her into a whirlwind courtship, her wildest dreams come true. As do her greatest fears, leaving her to decide what matters most. Loyalty…or love.

The clock is ticking.

Warning: This book contains airships, mechanical owls, women who are good with tools, men in and out of uniform, steam generated by engines and people, and some hot carriage scenes.

Now go forth and purchase!

Today is all about work. Layering. Polishing. Tweaking. Revising. You know how it goes. Also, laundry. Ick.

What's on your plate today?

Release Day!

All Fired Up is out in print today!

Desire can heal the coldest heart—or burn it to ashes.
Alrik Gunn knows from bitter experience that change isn’t always for the better. From the woman who annihilated his Viking clan to the goddess who tricked him into centuries of slavery, betrayal has dogged his existence. The Goddess of Love is going to let him avenge his family, but for a price. As a Phoenix—a merchant of change—he must grant a human woman three chances to change her life.
When former Irish dancer Calleigh McCarthy tosses a carved-bird statue that belonged to her ex into a roaring bonfire, she unwittingly summons an honest-to-god Phoenix. A sexy, irresistible Viking who offers her an unbelievable bonus—three get-out-of-her-crappy-life-free cards. She’ll take it, even if it means guarding her cautious heart against the dark pain behind Alrik’s eyes.
Alrik has vowed never to let love sway him again, but Calleigh’s innocence and kindness throw him off balance. Yet even as his need for revenge fades and his love for her grows, he is bound to let her make her choices without interfering.
One wrongly chosen word, and any chance for happiness—for either of them—will go up in flames.

* Amazon has it on sale here!

Good news!

I'm going to have a free read available for you all very soon! It will be part of the free reads Samhain is doing for Valentine's Day. It features the same characters as my Samhain paranormal romance, All Fired Up, so if you've read that book, you'll get a fun peek at Alrik and Calleigh again. If you haven't read All Fired Up, this will give you a glimpse of what you've missed!

I'll keep you posted when it's live. In the mean time, you can check out some other free reads from Samhain here.

Random Things

1. Today is my agent's birthday! You can wish her a happy birthday on Twitter at @elainespencer

2. Got comments back from one beta reader. Book Two does not suck as much as I'd thought.

3. Am working on V-Day freebie for Samhain. Will involve the further adventures of Alrik and Calleigh from ALL FIRED UP. In theory.

4. Spa was THE BEST. I wish I could get a doctor to prescribe monthly visits.

5. Stop by Louisa Edward's blog and ask her if her book is done. She'll enjoy that. Promise.

What are you up to today? I have edits to finish on one book and edits to start on another. Busy busy!

ARC Contest!

I have an ARC of my Sept 1st Samhain release, ALL FIRED UP, to give away, so I've decided to run a little contest and do just that.

First of all, the link to the Coming Soon page on Samhain's site:

http://samhainpublishing.com/coming/all-fired-up

And the book's blurb:

Now, the deets:

To enter the contest and a chance to win the ARC of ALL FIRED UP, here's what to do:

1. Post a comment in the comments section of this blog post.
2. Tweet something about the book on Twitter including @Kristen_Painter and the hashtag #afuarc.
3. Post something on your own blog about the book, then comment with the link on this blog so I know about it.
4. Link to this contest on your blog.
5. Join my yahoo group: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/kristenpainter/join

Each one of these gets you a entry. Do all five and you get five shots to win. You've got a week - the winner will be announced on Wednesday, August 12th.

Comments? Questions? Are you ALL FIRED UP yet?

It's been a big, big week

This has been one of the craziest, but best, weeks of my life.

First I got my very awesome Samhain cover. Then I found out I was selected to be one of the people who gets to try out a Sony reader for 2 months. Then yesterday, the biggest news of all...

My agent, Elaine Spencer, sold my urban fantasy to Orbit in a three book deal!

I feel pretty blessed right now. And I want to say thanks to my friend and Romance Divas co-founder, Jax Cassidy. Jax has always believed in me, always been a strong supporter of my work, always encouraged me when I wasn't feeling so great about this business, always told me I would sell. And while there have been other people in my life who've been there for me, Jax and I have pretty much been in this together from the beginning. So not only is she a talented writer/author herself, but she's a great friend. (And my webmistress!) I hope you all have a Jax in your life.

I have a cover!

This is the cover for my September 1st release from Samhain. Hotness, yes?

Here's the blurb:

Alrik Gunn knows from bitter experience that change isn’t always for the better. A sexy, irresistible Viking who offers her an unbelievable bonus—three get-out-of-her-crappy-life-free cards. She’ll take it, even if it means guarding her cautious heart against the dark pain behind Alrik’s eyes.

Alrik has vowed never to let love sway him again, but Calleigh's innocence and kindness throw him off balance. Yet even as his need for revenge fades and his love for her grows, he is bound to let her make her choices without interfering.

One wrongly chosen word, and any chance for happiness—for either of them—will go up in flames.

I know you all want to buy it, but you're just going to have to wait!
