I blame Louisa

All of a sudden, I have a craving for cowboy boots. These cowboy boots. Here's a little secret about me - I don't just love sparkly things, I also love embroidery like this. These boots speak to me for some reason. It's not like they make me want to run out and buy a horse, but they're just so pretty.

I want them. How cute would they be with just jeans and a t-shirt? Or a sundress? I've been looking at them for days. I know they're not that practical for Florida, but then, practical isn't usually a factor I consider. Also, if I ever get out to Durango again...perfection!

Should I?

PS. Louisa Edwards is to blame for me wanting these boots. She knows why.

Naughty Shoe Love

I'm fully aware that these shoes are kind of ridiculous. Which explains why I am madly in love with them. Practicality isn't always my strong suit. But really, aren't they amazing? Like candy. For your feet.

Oh my. SHINY! SPARKLY! WANT!

I got it bad for these shoes.

What do you think? Should I? Or am I crazy?

PS. They also come in pink.

I Think It's That Time

It's that time of year when a young man's fancy turns to - oh, honestly, who cares what a young man's fancy turns to? I've been thinking about shoes.

And purses.

And cute little flirty tops.

But before I can buy any, I need to clean out my closet and make room. There's a lot of stuff in there I'm not wearing. I don't have the excuse of winter clothes either. Yes, we get cool weather in Florida, but not the kind you really need a whole 'nother wardrobe for.

How often do you clean out your closet? (And no, that's not my actual closet, although I do have a shoe wall in the back like that. Well, not exactly like that. Mine doesn't have any open spaces.)

Odds-n-Ends

Today's post is a mish-mash, so bear with me.

*Saw the gator again last night. Got a few pics, too, but I took them on Hotrod's camera and I have no idea how to download them so that will have to wait for his cooperation.

*Decided to start working out again yesterday as I am tired of feeling like a lump. Being fluffy holds no appeal for me, but my love of food is at an all time high. Unfortunately.

*Gena Showalter is talking about her first sale at Dear Author. Go check it out.

*Lastly, I've been doing some shopping for Nationals, even though I said I wouldn't. I haven't spent much though. I've stuck mainly to the clearance and sale racks. Got some cute stuff yesterday, including two really sweet pairs of shoes. You know, because I really needed shoes. I could only find a pic of the flats. They're not quite that bright in person and have sort of a shantung silk look to them. Plus, bonus, they're really comfy.

Addictions

I have a very addictive personality. I know that about myself. I become addicted to things easily. For example, I had to uninstall Sims from my computer because I played it constantly. Five to six hours straight at times. Finally, I came to my senses, said enough is enough and uninstalled it. That's really the best way for me - cold turkey. There are some addictions I have no intention of giving up, however.

1. Shopping - Love it. Even if I don't buy anything, I love to see what's new.
2. Shoes - A subset of shopping really, but it's enough of an addiction that it deserves mentioning.
3. My cats - I adore them. I'm addicted to taking pictures of them, addicted to their silliness, their cuteness, the need to groom them like I'm their birth mother.
4. Reading - I would quite often rather read than write. It's true. Reading is an escape and one I crave.
5. Food - Okay, this is one I could do without. It's a constant battle. Why could I be addicted to working out? I know, I know, everything in moderation.
6. The Internet - Good or bad, depending on how you look at it. I love web surfing! This is probably why I'm not addicted to exercise. lol

What are you addicted to?

Grrrrrr

Well, I'm not so much mad as I am disappointed. See, lately, my online shopping exploits (and how often do you get to use the word exploits, I ask you?) haven't been going so well.

First of all, I ordered a delicious pair of coarse gold Jimmy Choo flats. The minute they arrived, I slid them out of their delicate lavender-pink box and tried them on. That's when the choir of angels went oddly silent. If I didn't have toes, they would have fit like a dream. As luck would I have, I do have toes. I packaged them back up to be returned as pieces of my little fashionista heart crumbled away.

Then today, the sparkly leopard sweater arrives. You remember it, right? It was all leopardy and sequined and had rhinestone buttons. Completely over the top in a very me kind of way. Until it arrived. In pictures, so decadent and scrumptious. In person, more Long Island grandma does Vegas on a bus tour. Um...no.

I guess I'll have to wait until I go to visit my mom next week to really get my shop on. Mom and I know how to make the cash registers sing. Who's your favorite shopping companion?

Dreams of Prada

I dreamed well last night. Bargain priced Prada platform sandals. And in the dream, I was a little unsure if I should get them or not, but (Diva) Lisa insisted I should. Always good to have a little fashion back-up, even in your dreams.

Not sure why I had this dream, other than Hotrod offered to buy me a car for my upcoming birthday. Very sweet of you, I said, but I'd rather have these:

Yep, that's me - a simple girl with simple tastes...
