No POV today

I think I've said what I needed to say about POV. If you have questions, feel free to post them.

Instead, I want to say Happy February! And talk about some mini-goals. Debbie Macomber recently spoke to our chapter about goals - she is SO focused. I don't think I'm made up that way, but I want to get better at it.

So. Goals. February. Here they are:

1. Finish first draft of Date With The Devil

2. Begin article for RWR

3. Brainstorm/plot new YA book, Deep Blue

4. Come up with pitch blurb for Deep Blue

Doesn't look like much but considering I'll have five family members in my house for eight days and my husband's birthday falls on Valentine's Day, there will be some minor complications. Additionally, I'm doing the workshop for my chapter's February meeting, there are crits to be done for my CPs, YA research books to be read (I'm on my third one right now as I try to get a handle on this new genre venture), and all the general stuff living entails: dentist, groceries, house cleaning (hah!), laundry, etc. Oh yes, forgot to mention I'll be taking on the role of mentor in February as well as part of the Romance Divas mentor program.

So. What are you doing in February?

  1. Sounds like a lot to me! Sheesh!

Well, I had a major brainstorm while scrubbing a pan a few days ago and I'm trying to convince my CP to collaborate with me on a mainstream ST. Like she doesn't already have at least four books she's trying to finish, sigh.

Otherwise, I'm trying to get cracking on my sequel (which doesn't want to budge from the 50K mark) and finish something for the Divas Ebook Challenge.

It sounds like a lot to me too :)

I'll be working away on revisions in Febrauary.

  3. Honey, that is a lot with all that you have going on in your life. I hope you reach all of your goals. :)

If you don't mind me asking, which YA research books are you reading?

  4. Robin - Brainstorm or not, it's still housework. Ick! lol

Bonnie - I'd rather do revisions than a first draft.

Heather - So far, Twilight by Stephenie Meyer, Valiant by Holly Black and now Magic or Madness by Justine Larbalestier.

  5. yep- that's a lot. Me, I just finished One Doctor:Well Heeled so I can get on to Glory B. I'd like to finish that novella this month, plus once I hear back from Paige, if she doesn't want me, it's time for a top ten agent list and some serious hard sell. Plus my CPs and the 2 sections I moderate (must get word of the week back up), blogging, sorting kids out as they go back to school and organizing their after school activities, plus I'd like to finish unpacking and getting my pots in the garden. I offered to be back up if they don't get enough mentors, but I'm kinda hoping they don't. I'd really like to do a techy course to learn some skills but, hmm, maybe not in February.
