It's that time of year when a young man's fancy turns to - oh, honestly, who cares what a young man's fancy turns to? I've been thinking about shoes.
And purses.
And cute little flirty tops.
But before I can buy any, I need to clean out my closet and make room. There's a lot of stuff in there I'm not wearing. I don't have the excuse of winter clothes either. Yes, we get cool weather in Florida, but not the kind you really need a whole 'nother wardrobe for.
How often do you clean out your closet? (And no, that's not my actual closet, although I do have a shoe wall in the back like that. Well, not exactly like that. Mine doesn't have any open spaces.)

I clean my closet about once a year and always end up filling at least two garbage bags full of stuff for Goodwill. It's kind of shocking, really.

ReplyDeleteI only clean out my closet when I need to move (which has been too often over the past few years). But I'm horrible about not getting rid of certain pieces. I still have a lovely mocha brown sheath in crushed velvet that I've only worn once. It looked so awesome on me that I can't get rid of it, even though it doesn't fit anymore.

ReplyDeleteI think's it's time for a pedi myself. I love to to buy a few new pieces each season. But I need it real warm I hate to be cold so sweaters till then!

ReplyDeleteLiving in Wisconsin, we do truly have to put cloths away for the season. My sweater rack is converted into a sandal rack for summer
We do a Girl party clothes swap 2x a year, where everyone brings their goodies they no longer like/ fit in and swap with other hot babes.
I clean out the closet twice a year: once for winter/fall clothes and once for spring/summer clothes. It's very cathartic. :)

ReplyDeleteRight now my trunk on my car is full of stuff for goodwill from my daughter and mine closet. And I still can't stuff one more thing in my side of the closet.
ReplyDeleteTerrible but true, my clothes has now trespassed on my hubby's side of the closet. I may *gasp* have to pull out more clothes.

Oh. My. God. Love that closet. I just got a decorating magazine yesterday with a picture of a closet in it just like the one in the new house, with before and after pics. So I will be doing it up kinda like that. I'm going through my closet today actually, but I guess for a move it doesn't count. I normally grab a few things to toss out or give away every couple months.
