Do you have a blurb for the story you're working on or just finished? I'd love to hear it. I need to work on a blurb for my YA and I'm looking for ideas!!
Here's the draft blurb of my 4th book (which is only at 2nd draft stage): Death is natural; accidents happen. Sometimes, though, death isn’t always what is seems. When Detective Dennis Haggarty travels to a tiny town for his brother-in-law’s funeral and finds a dead body outside the mortuary, he begins to wonder if his sister’s husband really died of a stroke. No one’s been murdered in Serenity since the ‘60’s and the townsfolk would like to keep their record of the safest place to live in Colorado, even if it means letting a murderer go free. Discouraged by the local police, pressured to leave by his own sister, Dennis finds himself wishing he’d never left Denver, but he isn’t the kind of man who can just turn away from a crime. Not even when he finds himself falling for a woman who’s not only the city manager’s widow but also his prime suspect.
Here's the blurb for Bite Me! my book coming out Jan 2009:
AJ Ashe isn't a typical seventeen year old vampire. Her ex-boyfriend is now her stepbrother, who, as it turns out, is also warlock. Her two BFFs are in a huge fight and she's caught in the middle. She's totally framed for cheating on a Lit test. And now, apparently, the fate of humankind lies in her little undead hands. Like that's fair. What ever happened to the good old days when all a vampire girl had to worry about was the occasional zit and hiding her fetish for necks?
