Break Out The Hand-Sanitizer

Is it just me or is everyone you know sick? Hotrod's been fighting a bug, one of CP's husbands is sick, lots of people on twitter have been tweeting about their sickness...it seems to be everywhere!

I do not want to get sick, so I'm upping my vitamin C intake and keeping the hand-sanitizer close. What do you do to keep from getting sick?

  1. I've been fighting an evil stomach thing myself. Since I'm pretty much a hermit nowadays, I'm guessing I got it either at the grocery store or the library. I keep a bottle of Purell in my car so I can sanitize, but I must've missed that day. Ack.

I hope Hotrod feels better soon, and that you don't get it.

  2. Oh my gosh, no one is sick here, though my son split his eye wide open last night. Mostly I give the kids orange juice. :-)
    Hope he feels better.

I swear, hubs would bath in Purell if he could!

Good luck with Hotrod. Hope he gets to feeling better soon.

  4. I wash my hands constantly but it's tough with young children. They are like walking germs.

Hope Hotrod feels better. Hope you don't get sick!

  5. I drink as much water as possible to drown any germs seeking entrance.
    Sometimes it even works. :)

btw...I adore the new puffs plus box. :):)

  6. The best thing you can do to keep from getting sick is wash your hands, so you're right on about that. And you know those lovely little wipes they have now at places like Publix so you can wipe down the hand rail on the grocery cart? USE 'em! Drink lots of water, lots of Vitamin C and get plenty of sleep. This is Nurse/Sister Maria's best advice.

  7. I've been so lucky re colds this winter. **Maureen pauses to knock on wood.** My one-year-old nephew has even stuck his rhino-virus-covered pinkies straight up my, um, rhino a few times -- and still no cold, yet.

I take Cold-FX any time I've been around someone who has a cold... or when I'm feel a little extra run down. So far it's working.

Do they have Cold-FX in the States? I think it's just highly concentrated Ginkgo-Biloba or something... but it really seems to work.

**this is not a paid advertisement** (although I wouldn't say no, if those Cold-FX people wanted to shoot me some cash or free product. Just saying..

  10. Drink that Superfood green drink juice. It has two different types of algae in it, plus zinc, both of which are like magic for warding off sickness.

  11. A horrible flu-like cold has been working its way through the school here. My daughter was sick for three weeks - and the pediatrician insisted it was 'not serious'. Half her friends have been sick with the same thing.

I avoid getting sick my keeping my breathing to a minimum and running like heck whenever someone sneezes in my general direction.

  15. I wish I knew as I'm fighting with bronchitis and asthma now. I took two days off the day job this week and spent half the day at the doctor's.

My office has been passing around a cold for a month. My kids brought it home from school, too.

  16. Zicam is pure awesome. If you even think you're getting a cold, use it. I also use Airborne. Don't know if it actually works, but it makes me feel better.

  17. Hibernate. :-) I love it when someone calls to tell you they are sick, or their kids are, and you just spent yesterday with them. My kid is a ticking time bomb.
