3...2...1

After driving all night, my parents arrived here about 7:45 this morning. They'd originally planned to arrive Thursday, but after I informed my dad that tonight's evening shuttle launch is quite possibly the last one ever, they changed their plans and got here early.

Tonight we'll be headed to Titusville to get a closer view of this awe-inspiring event. Not that we can't see it pretty well from the back yard, but being that my folks drove 11 hours, I can get them a little closer.

What are you doing tonight?

  3. That sounds awesome. I've always regretted not seeing a launch when I lived in FL.

  4. When I was a kid, the nuns (stop laughing) used to let us sit on the grass in the front of the school (Ascension Catholic on US1) to watch the Apollo launchings. It was so cool. Have a blast! (no pun intended...)

I am SO JEALOUS. If I were within a realistic drive, I'd be throwing hubby and dogs into the truck and heading your way.

Take pictures. I wanted to see the night launch last month and was so disappointed. You lucky duck

  7. That's so cool! My folks won't make it in until tomorrow. They always seem to just miss a launch. Tonight I will be watching it out by the pool with my boys. The hubster is working the launch so around 2:00 a.m. I will be nodding off as he is walking through the door. Hope you guys have fun!

  11. Well, tonight, which is not the night you asked, I am sitting downstairs reading blogs because my husband is in our bedroom watching "Dark Knight" and I don't want to watch something like that before bedtime. So I'm relaxing with my warm computer after getting Wm to sleep reading "Mr. Popper's Penguins".
