Oh Happy Day!

My house is now empty of all visiting family and in a few short hours, Hotrod will be on the road too.

Don't get me wrong, I love Hotrod's family (most of them anyway), but I'm not used to have kids and babies in my house. Or having to be fully dressed just to go into the kitchen. I like my routine. My cats like their routine.

Granted, in a few days, my parents arrive, but for me, they're much mellower visitors. When he's not fixing something that needs fixing, my dad sits outside and watches the water and the birds. When she's not cooking, my mom sits inside and reads. It's peaceful when they're here.

Speaking of peaceful, can you hear that? It's the sound of silence. Blessed, sweet silence. Ahhh...

Now, I will spend the day writing and at some point, take some time to workout. What are you doing today?

  3. Dang woman. You always make me laugh!
I have three boys. Do you know how depressing it is to know that I can't walk around naked for at least twenty years? :-(

Glad you have your silence back. I know how precious that is.

I love the sound of silence!

I've been yard work. I think 3 hours is long enough! Plus the front bed looks pretty good. Started to work on that ivy under the deck, but that'll have to wait until another day.

  5. Well I volunteered at my daughter's class this morning and then I plan on writing for the rest of the day when I'm not dealing with the kiddos.

Enjoy the silence! I like how you mentioned even your cats have a routine. ;)

  7. I love silence! With a husband, two kids, a dog and two cats, there's not much of it around here. I just got back from a bake sale at the high school - talk about chaos! My ears are ringing.

  8. A photographer came to my house this morning to shoot pics of me "writing in my closet". It was a hoot. I think he thought I was joking when I told him that's where I wrote. AFter he left,I fell asleep in an exhausted stupor. LOL. Now I'm going to write!

  9. Ugh, no matter how much you enjoy having them, it probably feels nice to have some peace. Good words to you, and a peaceful week to balance it all out.

I just got back from the long haul to the bookstore. I love bookstores, but 2 hrs there and 2 more back sucks the energy right out of me.

  10. My mom has a saying, visitors are like dead fish - after three days, they both start to smell.
