5 Interesting Things

Thanks to Mel Francis, I've been tagged to reveal 5 interesting things about me. Hmm. Five is a big number...

1. My brother's been bitten by a shark, fallen into a fire, run through with rebar, had a fish hook embedded in his foot, gotten poison ivy on his face and broken his ankle. I rarely get colds.

2. I once baked a cake for a cake auction that not only went for the most money but was purchased by Miss Wheelchair America. It was a seven-layer pound cake.

3. Even when it's 95 degrees outside, I will mostly likely be wearing socks. My feet are always cold.

4. My secret desire is to be a jazz singer. Or a mermaid.

5. I've seen the original Star Wars 27 times and used to wear my hair like Princess Leia. Unlike my brother, however, I did not sleep on Star Wars sheets. Yes, Matthew, you've been called out.

I hope some of that was interesting. I hereby tag Lara Santiago, Deidre Knight, Shannon McKelden, Jax and Babe to take up this challenge!

That seven-layer pound cake sounds amazing :)

  2. That's all very interesting...Especially the part about wanting to be a mermaid. :) You would so totally rock out as a mermaid.

  3. Bonnie, it was. Chocolate layers on yellow pound cake with vanilla buttercream frosting covered with dark chocolate shavings. Mmmm...I love me some baking!

Thanks, Mel. I just don't know what I'd do with my cats if I transformed. They'd probably want to nibble on me.

  4. Knowing your cats as I do, you'd be dinner and not just a nibble. :)

  5. Mmm. Cake.

And maybe you can live out the Jazz singer fantasy in Dallas.

  6. I actually already played this game...only somehow it morphed. We have been doing 4 truths and a lie...see mine here:

I seriously can't play again, because it took me forever to come up with 4 interesting facts about me. There just aren't anymore! *snort*

Shannon - who is salivating now about that damn cake. Thanks a lot!

  7. I had no idea you were a Star Wars expert, Kristen!

Now that we know your secrets, you'll have to sing some jazz -- while wearing a mermaid dress, of course -- in the bar at RWA National. :-)

  8. So was the cake seven pounds too?

  9. Oh-oh, I mean, ah ... sure. No problem. We Babes laugh at challenges. Tomorrow, though, since I've just blogged.

Oh, and I could definitely see you as a mermaid. :-)

  10. Whaaaa, my smilee got chopped in half. Darned electronic plastic surgery.

  11. So what you're saying is that it's dangerour to be your sister.
Mermaid, very interesting and that cake thing, YUM!

  12. I've been tagged several times, but I seldom have time to do these things. It's all I can do to put up a publishing post, lol.

I can totally picture you as a jazz singer. You have the body and the attitude. I've never heard you sing though--can you do smoky and sexy?

I say go for it, a writer and a jazz singer. Why not?

  14. Challenge met. :-)

  15. Oh, and a warning. K, do NOT read Cat's in the Cradle. You won't like it. My kids have been mutilating song lyrics again. Despite what they say in their song, they actually DO like cats.
