Good News

I sold another writing article! I'll be rolling in it now. So long as they pay me in dimes. But hey, I'm just thrilled to have sold the article and to have sold it to a magazine that pays. My article on attending the RWA National conference will be published in the June issue of the RWR (Romance Writer's Report)!

What's your good news?

  1. That's wonderful. My good news right now rates around, "Hey look, we do have mustard." Hopefully it will get better soon. Dang it, that reminds me I have to go to the store. I have no salad dressing.

I had no idea RWR paid for articles accepted.

  4. Sara - I know I shouldn't be laughing...but I am.

    Bonnie - Thanks!

Heather - They do. Not tons, but it's very respectable. This makes my third article. (The last one's slated for Nov.)

I liked the comment about rolling in it if you were paid in dimes. ;)

  11. Woohoo! Somewhat to my surprise, I had a full-page article of mine published today in a local rag. I get to roll around in dimes too! So there was good news after all.

Um. My good news? Not broke--yet. Got two nice reviews on Leap of Fate! Yay! I have lots of cool writing friends! Oh, and the immediate family is still breathing.

We have no more mustard, but we do have ketchup! Does that count?

  18. Congratulations, Kristen! I'm totally awed -- I've tried writing articles and they just don't happen for me.

So, my good news is that I'm finally breaking out of my latest block. Our local RWA group is doing a PAD (page a day) challenge, where each of us has to write at least one page every day or we're out of the drawing, and so far I'm still in. It doesn't seem so hard to get started when you think, "One page -- it'll just take you ten minutes." And the next thing you know, you've got five pages. :D
