Talk Amongst Yourselves

I'm off on an extended beach weekend with some ladyfriends - try to behave while I'm gone, would you? (By the way, I'm about 300 pages into the second JR Ward book and plan to finish the rest of the series - which I bought yesterday - while I'm on my va-cay.)

If you have teenage daughters, would you mind doing a little research for me? I'd like to know what they worry about the most while at school and what secret/super power they'd most like to have. Cool? Cool. Thanks.

Okay, gotta run. Have a great weekend and see you on Monday!

  2. Flying, invisibility and super strength.

Worries? Depends on the kid. I have Dd and friends here right now and they say getting their work in and good grades. Boys too, but the boys take a backseat. I hope it stays that way. I have a niece who is heading off to Northwestern in a few weeks and her worries are Grades, Grades, Grades. But she's the exception. All of her 'friends' dropped her like a rock when they got boyfriends, and none of them wanted to spend any more time with their girlfriends. Made her very upset. She's a strong, self possessed beauty. Blonde like you. Tall, and smart as a whip. If she likes a guy (and she's had a few boyfriends) they are along for her ride. She has things to accomplish, and if he lines up with that, fine. If not, see ya later. She dumped a guy when she saw him cry when he was scared. Seriously.

  4. Okay, I had my 14 year old daughter give me her answers to your questions, written down in paragraph form. Below are her words:

    1) I suppose my biggest worry in school was the other kids. Not the math and English stuff--I'm good at that--but the kids in school freaked me out and intimidated me to no end. They'd start teasing me and say the most awful things.

    2) I think it would be awesome to be telekinetic. Telepathy would be cool, too, but it could be a problem if you can't turn it off. Telekinesis, however, is useful and has no downsides, because all you're doing is moving stuff with your mind.

Hope that helps. If need any clarification or have any more questions, let me know.

  7. Fun fun! Enjoy the beach. I'm life surrounded by beaches and hardly ever visit them...I know, that's so sad. I think it might be because it rains so much.

I asked my daughters about worries and they both said: School work, grades, and what other people think of them.

Super powers: Mind reading, shape shifting, and invisibility.

    Oh to be young again!
