Monday, Monday...

It's been chillyish in FL lately. And by chillyish, I mean I wore my fabulous (faux) fur to church last night. Yeah, that cold. Today I'm making soup - a lovely chicken & barley stew to get me through the week. I love soup (and chili)! Not only does the house smell great, but it's good for you. I could eat soup every day. Sometimes, I do.

Writing-wise, I'm hard at work editing the first book I ever wrote in hopes of giving it new life. I love the story, but I worry I'm too close to it. Fortunately, two fabulous divas volunteered to beta read it for me. My goal today is to edit 70 pages. It's doable, I just need to get on it.

Lastly, I need to get my booty back into exercise. My goal for that today is 15 minutes on the elliptical. Not much, I know, but still better than nothing. Maybe I'll throw in some abs and some push-ups. If it were warmer, I might go for a walk. Do you try to squeeze exercise into your day? What kind do you do?

  1. It's chillin' here in CA too. Supposed to rain later which we need...

I just found a recipe for a vegetable soup that I want to try. I'm going to do that this week I think.

Good luck on the editing! :)

  2. Freezing and now snowing here in WI. I love soup in winter and I have lucked out and found a walking buddy.

We meet at the high school indoor track at 7 a.m. and walk at least 1 1/2 hours a day. Her legs are longer than mine, so I really have to work to keep up. 15 minutes is great on the elliptical. When I first started working out, I could only do 5 minutes on a treadmill.

Hope your story works out, the first one is very special.

  3. Yeah, I squeeze excerise into my day--or rather evening.
I'm in the habit of going to the gym before dinner. I do the elliptical for 30 minutes and then maybe walk for 20 min. Sometimes I squeeze in a class that uses weights, too.
One of my goals for the new year is to make sure that happens at least 3 days a week.
    Good luck with the edits!

  4. Hello again! I hope you squeeze enough life inside the book and get your booty back up and running.

  5. I will be over for meals at least twice a week K! :) I loooove soups and exercise when I have time. Hopefully with my new lifestyle I'll be able to do that! It's a matter of time now before I call Orlando home...gulp...

  7. Cold and snowy here, too.

We're trying to get into an exercise routine here. I just bought a DVD of fat burning exercises. So far we've done the warm-ups and the cool-downs, but we've been too tired to do the actual routine.

Soup sounds awesome. Or maybe I'll make chili tomorrow. Nothing like it on a frigid day. =oD

  9. I've been going to the gym. Mostly cardio, but some weights too. I also love soup and made some yesterday.... a lovely Italian that turned out fabulous, eaten with crusty Italian bread and red wine. MMmmm! I like to make a big pot every week so I have soemthing hot for lunch that is fast and not a lot of trouble.
