50 Books In A Year

I'm in the midst of number 28 right now, so I'm well on track to read 50 books this year, however I have to say I thought it would be easier. I figured I read that many anyway. I thought reading 50 books would be a piece of cake. It hasn't been. There have been a handful that I've read half-way through only to quit because they were so bad. You don't get credit for those. Then there are some like New Moon and Lover Enshrined that are long enough they ought to count for two. Anyway, I'm on track, which is cool because I hate to attempt a thing like that and fail.

How many books do you think you've read this year? Are you keeping track?

  1. I'm almost with you, but I count everything I read, not just the romances. I just finished THE SHACK this week, and you know I read DEATH ANGEL, and also SO YOU DON'T WANT TO GO TO CHURCH AYMORE. So that was three this week. No, four. I read M.LIU's THE IRON HUNT (which rocked, too).

  2. I wish I had more time to read. I think this year I've only read about 12-15 books and that is horrible. I use to read 5 books a week. I'm not kidding! Now there is no time and I'm lucky if I can read one a month!

  3. Good for you. I used to be a 50 book a year girl if not many more averaging at least 1 a week but now I'm more like 1-2 a month with life just getting in the way of things. It's very frustrating with so many wonderful books out there that I want to read. I've taken to putting some authors that I know I like on cd like Janet Evanovich on my Ipod so I can do the audio books while walking the dog or driving the kids around. So many books so little time.

  4. My goal this year was to read a book a week. I'm catching up this summer - I think I'm on #39. Maybe #40. I count audio books, too, and I think there have been 5 of those that I listen to on my commute.

  5. I "am" keeping track.
My goal was not as ambitious as yours though. I tasked myself with reading an average of 2 books a month for a total of 24 this year.

I'm up to 15 so I feel pretty good.
Sometimes I have to stop and write, but sometimes I read three in a month...woo hoo! :)

My favorites so far are a tie between First You Run and Then You Hide by the fabulous Roxanne St. Claire. :)

  6. I don't know how many books I've read so far, but I can tell you that I have exactly 78 books on my TBP. Hahaha!

  7. 78! I have over 200! And I'm glad I'm not going to add to it at National this year!!! (Okay, the only reason I'm glad I'm not going. That and the $$$)

  9. I started keeping track of the books I read last year, and I've been good at keeping up with it this year. I just finished #37. There are so many really good ones I read this year I can't choose which were the best. Roxanne's books are awesome, and Allison Brennan, and Karin Tabke (whose new Master of Surrender I just finished reading this morning and man it is HOT), Lynn Viehl... The list goes on and on. So many good books this year, and so many more to come. Yay!
