Hot Mess Monday

So the Twilight movie, based on the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyers, has finally hit the cover of Entertainment Weekly. Um...is it just me or is that pic of Edward just completely sad? I mean, in the book he's this fabulous, mind-blowingly handsome, sparkly dude. In that pic, he's more like some kind of dull, mind-eating zombie. (And I get the feeling that I could snap him like a twig.)

I hope he doesn't look like that in the movie, or you're going to have theaters full of rioting teenage girls. Or do teenage girls think pale and wasted is hot?

  1. I know that there are some movies that you think the characters are totally cast WRONG, but once the movie is out the actors are so fabulous you grow to have a crush on them..for instance, Superman. I didn't think I'd like the lead, Brandon Routh, was going to be a good replacement for Christopher Reeves, but I really enjoyed the movie and he took on some of CR's signature nuances..I can go on...but I guess I like the lead in Twilight. He was in Harry Potter as Cedric Diggory...and I thought he was cute.. Do I sound like I'm defending the cast? Not really, but my best friend in LA has been on the set of Twilight and he promised me autographed goods when he does the behind-the-scenes! :)

  2. For some reason I couldn't see the pic on my computer but I went to the EW sight and saw it and agree with you. Eww... I can only hope he is a hell of and actor and rocks the role like Jax says.

  3. Yeah I saw that cover and was like whaaaaat? I read Twilight, Edward is supposed to be a hot stud not a hot mess. LOL

I can hold out and hope it works for the movie but that cover, meh. I wonder if the rabid fans went a little crazy when they saw that?

  4. I read that article the other day when I was getting a pedicure. I think the guy is cute, but he's not devastatingly handsome like Edward is portrayed. I know a lot of fans are up in arms about it. And do they really have to powder him up that much? Looks like overkill. Also, did you see the guy playing Jacob? He's about 5'6" - Jacob's like 6'7"!

  6. I know Stephanie Meyer was unhappy with the casting because she had totally different people in mind but she didn't have a say. Look at your contracts people on Film Rights. She didn't get to do anything with the script but she had a little opinion on the music soundtrack. I know that she was happy with the results of the actors so lets see how it plays out.

  7. I haven't read the book or seen the photo of which you speak ;-) But I did see the trailer the other day and the actor certainly has a way of looking at the actress that was quite hot... in a skinny 16 year old kind of way....

  8. I am really hoping that he is actually better in the movie...I think this is a yucky cover. I am just hoping that it was a not so great cover and they are going to be amazing in the movie.
