This year's Golden Heart calls go out on Friday, March 24th. It's a bit nerve wracking. I'd love to final again and I feel like the two manuscripts I entered are much stronger than the one that finaled last year but you just never know.
Time goes by much faster if you try to forget you're waiting on something, don't you think? I've been reading a lot. Watching movies. Thinking about book ideas. Writing a little (I wish I could say I'm writing a lot but my current idea feels unsettled and I'm just not in love with it yet.)
What are you waiting on and how do you pass the time?

Waiting on? Ha! What am I not waiting on. The GH's, of course, though I don't think I have much of a chance this year. San Jose writers conference cause Jenny and I are meeting. Ten editors from ten different publishers to read OTE. My CP's to read the changes Jenny asked for in LIPS. You name it, I'm waiting for it. And what do I do while I am waiting?
ReplyDeleteTwiddle my thumbs. Honestly, I have so much other writing work to do I don't think about it too much.

Good luck, Kristen. I have my fingers crossed for you.
ReplyDeleteI kind of know what you're going through, because I entered GSW in the Writer's Notes Magazine Book Awards and the finalists are announced on the 31st.
Ooh good luck!! I agree I find thinking about other things gets time moving on alot faster. As soon as I send out a query, partial I just...forget about it. Now fulls are harder!!
ReplyDeleteOoo I'm crossing my fingers for you Kristen! I didn't enter, never have. I think I'll try next year. I hear it's a great contest!
ReplyDeleteI hate waiting!
ReplyDeleteI hope you aren't going to make me do extra abs again to 'fill the time' while you wait for Friday. :)

Ooh I hope you final again, Kristen :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not waiting on anything at the moment because I'm in rough draft mode.
I entered, too, Kristen. Until this week, I thought of it only in passing because the announcement was too far out. This week though, I've thought about it every day. And that makes for a slow week! In the meantime, I'm working on a new book and revising another.
