Should I? Or Shouldn't I?

I have a workshop idea for Nationals and the clock on getting that submitted is ticking. I was gungho on doing this, but now I'm not sure. Should I submit it or not? Here's the general blurb:

Romancing The Stones: Using the history, mystery and mythology of gemstones and jewelry to make your stories shine.

What do you think? Would you attend that workshop? Give me your honest opinion! I'd hate to submit something, get it accepted, then have zero attendance. Ugh. Help!

  1. I may not be the best one to ask-since every nook and cranny of my house is covered with quartz collection and ammonite, malachite, assorted fossils etc.
Cookie and I love minerals and gemstones and their interesting properties. And I always love knowing more.
    So I say yes. :)

  2. I'd definitely be interested. I love gems. Like R.G., I've got crystals everywhere in my house. *LOL*

  3. It sounds like a great idea, but it may be too specific for a national conference. I guess it depends on how many attendees they're expecting and what percentage of people would be interested in using gemstone information in their novels. I'd probably attend, but then again, I still have my rock collection from when I was a kid.

  5. Go for it. I had an idea for one, but am too busy to work on it. It's called the Rodgers and Hammerstien Guide to romance:) If you watch those musicals, it is very clear where the plot points are... interesting stuff:)

  6. It's sounds VERY interesting.
But could you use a workshop like that if you write romantic comedy like moi? Or does it just apply to those who write fantasy or paranormal type stuff?

  7. Go for it!
You know that a whole bunch of people would show up to hear you speak. :)
I'd make sure of it or else. Muwahahahaha! :)

  8. YES! I have done research on stones and even thought of using them as a basis for descriptions, to try to get a unique angle of eye and hair color.
Then of course there are some amazing histories based on gemstones and the lengths man has gone to obtain them.
And the mystical channels they open up for believers.

What is NOT to like about gemstones?
I LOVE the ones that magically change into three separate colors..depending on light.

Go for it! If I could be be there, I would.
